SepPreview for Illustrator CS3
Installation
    After expanding the downloaded archive (spv_cs3.sit)
  • Place the file "SPV_CS3.aip" in the Illustrator CS3 Plug-ins folder (it's in the Illustrator Application folder).
  • Launch Illustrator CS3.
  • Open a CMYK mode Document. SepPreview is for CMYK color mode documents only, not RGB.
  • Turn on overprint preview.
  • Access SepPreview under the View menu.
  • Some color selections will not be available (grayed out) in the demo version.

  • Select a document color to preview in the color list popup.
  • Hold the shift key when selecting a color to add it to the preview.
  • Hold the option key when selecting a color to remove it from the preview.
  • Click the plus or minus button to zoom in and out of the preview.

  • Click the Print button in the SepPreview dialog.
  • Set Overprints to Simulate in the Advanced settings pane.
  • The document will print the color(s) selected in SepPreview in color.
  • Print each color on clear film to create quick, inexpensive “color keys”.
